It’s no secret that the characters in Genshin Impact have extraordinary backstories. This is especially true in the case of the seven archons, who all have rich histories. Zhongli, in particular, is especially interesting as he is the oldest archon in Teyvat and one of the most knowledgeable.
Zhongli is over6,000 years old,and his birthday is on December 31st, making him aCapricorn. He was around before the archon war and actually lived a peaceful life helping the early inhabitants of Liyue prosper along with his close partnerGuizhong.

Zhongli fought many monsters in his time as an archon, recruited the otheradepti, and even saved theXiao. After thousands of years bound to protecting Liyue, though, he faked his own death so that he could pass the torch on the humans in charge of the region.
Despite his old age, though, he doesn’t know to carry money with him and can come off as ratherclutzydespite his cast knowledge. Zhongli also tends to still come to Liyue’s aid when it’s needed, as seen whenAzhdahareawakened during his second story quest.
