Whether you’re jumping back into WoW Classic for some nostalgic dungeon grinding or you’re a first-time player, getting into professions can be somewhat overwhelming at the start. However, once you get used to how everything works, it becomes second nature when questing. Here is your guide to Leatherworking in WoW Classic.
When getting into Leatherworking, your first order of business is tofind your trainers. They will differ from city to city but will always be noted (as seen above), and learn the leatherworking profession from them. You willhighly benefit from choosingSkinningas your secondary profession instead of hoping that leather drops from enemies or buying it from vendors.
You will gain the ability to produce your own leather while questing by skinning fallenbeast-typeenemies. Simply learning the Skinning profession will not give you the ability to skin immediately. However, be sure to head to yourLeatherworking Suppliesvendor andbuy a skinning knife, as you will not be able to skin anything without it.
Your next step will be tostart questing or hunting. If you have or find a quest that involves killing a bunch of beasts, it will usually lead you to a rich hunting ground, plus you get a good chunk of XP after handing in the quest. Wait for a beat after you’ve killed a beast, andthe option to skin them will appear;doingso will net you skill points toward your skinning profession anda few pieces of leather, which will differ in quality depending on the beast’s level.

While the recipes will differ and become more complex as you level up, the cycle of hunting, skinning, and crafting leather-based items will remain the same.
