One of these types of collectibles is Hidden Stories. You can see these by opening your Adventure Tome and looking at the right of this menu. One of these is The Hidden Past of Varut.
You can find this on the continent Rethrasmis.Head to the cathedral in Prideholme.In theback of the cathedral is a partition behind the Tablet. Walk behind this partitionand interact with the popup. This will unlock The Hidden Past of Varut. You must have left the cathedral and entered again to be able to walk behind the partition.

This is only one of many Hidden Stories in Rethrasmis. This particular one reads:
I’m going to confess my love for her todayIf she rejects me.I shall become a priest.And I will never gaze upon her again.
