Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl feature a total of 493 Pokémon to choose from when building your team, so it can be hard to decide which Pokémon you want and what types you want. Fire Pokémon are in short supply, and for those of you who didn’t pick Chimchar because Turtwig is the better choice, your next best hope is Ponyta.
To find Ponyta in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you musthead to Route 206, 210, 211, 214, or 215. Ponyta can be found in all of these routes, but Route 206 is preferred because it is the earliest place players can find it with the lowest level.

Fire is a great type to have on your team, and if you did not select Chimchar as your starter, you would want to catch Ponyta. Ponyta and its evolution Rapidash are both Pokémon. Their speed and attack will make them a good sweeper in your team.
You don’t necessarily need a fire-type Pokémon, but you should certainly consider Rapidash. In addition to fire-type moves, it can learn various moves that will help with coverage. Plus, Rapidash has an amazing design.
