Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are remasters of the original games and are fairly faithful to their predecessors. One thing that remains true is the choice of starters—those being Chimchar, Turtwig, and Piplup. But some trainers prefer the original starters and may be wondering if they catch them.
You can find Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl inthe Grand Underground.But you will firstneed to have acquired the National Pokédexfrom Professor Rowan. After that, you can find the Gen I starters in various Pokémon Hideaways. These are:

If you do not see the Gen I starters in these various locations, simply exit them and reenter them until you spot Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur. Once they have spawned, simply interact with them to encounter them and catch them as you would any other Pokémon. Good luck out there, trainer!
