In Project Zomboid, water is set to shut off once the game passes a certain amount of days. The default setting for when the shut-off happens for water is set at14 days. When the water eventually shuts off, all water sources such assinks, bathtubs, and showerswill have a limited supply of water.

However, water can shut off earlier than the 14th day and randomly shut off within the 14-day range. So what this means is that the water shut off is random, but it will happen sometime before14 days have passed.

Because of this, it is ideal to set up rain collectors before the shut-off happens. By usingRain Collectors, you will be able to stock up on water every time it rains. It’s also a good idea to build quite of few of these collectors, but relying onRain Collectorsalone is not smart in the long run.

In short,it’s not going torain every day, so it’s better to diversify your options. That said, here are some things we recommend doing before the shut-off happens for water inProject Zomboidlisted below.
