A supposed “leak” is going around through social media that reports Warner Bros is developing its own crossover fighting game that features some of its biggest IPs. The leak originated from user“hugeleakeractually” on Reddit, who claims that the game has been under development for a few years now.
The leaker writes that Netherrealm Studios, the same company that has worked on Mortal Kombat and Injustice, is developing the game. The idea for this Warner Bros. crossover game stem from the popular “Ultra Instinct” Shaggy meme. The meme itself is a parody of the “Ultra Instinct” form fromDragon Ball Super.
Due to the ongoing popularity of the meme—which has even been referenced in the WB Animation title card ofMortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms—there’ve been a lot of fans who want to see Shaggy be a playable character in a fighting game. This is what led to the idea of the Warner Bros. fighting game, at least according to the leaker.

Warner Bros. also wanted to cash in on the huge success of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and take advantage of Nintendo’s stance with the Smash competitive scene. The leaker claims that more companies will also be doing their cross-over games to copy the success of Smash.
Shaggy wouldn’t be alone, as the leaker also listed other characters from within Warner Bros. library of content. The leaker also listed Gandalf from theLord of the Rings, Tom & Jerry, Batman, Fred Flinstone, Mad Max, and Johnny Bravo. The leaker shares a link ofthe trademark MULTIVERSUS, theorizing that may be part of the game’s title.
It should be noted that none of this has been officially confirmed yet and that it should be taken with a grain of salt. The leaker’s identity is unknown, and they don’t have a fully proven track record. The leaker claims that multiple insiders have come to them saying they’ve also heard the same thing. Even industry insider Jeff Grubb Tweeted saying that the Warners Bros. fighting game is real, but Netherrealm Studios aren’t developing it as the leaker has reported.
This WB platform fighter is real, but it is not a Netherrealm game. Come on.https://t.co/WkMiKf4dTH
