Shiny Pokémon are rare versions of Pokémon in Pokémon go that have modified looks. They are called shiny because they generally add a slight sheen, making them stand out more than the normal versions.

Shiny Rates

Apart from the Pokémon that don’t have shiny versions in the game, every Pokémon has a base shiny rate that tells you how often you’ll see a shiny version. Chimchar is a relatively common Pokémon, so they don’t have a boost to their rate. They are at the default shiny rate of1 in 500(about 0.20 percent). So, for every 500 Chimchar you catch, you’ll probably only get one shiny version.

Monferno and Infernape are rarely seen in the wild, so you will very rarely run into a shiny version. Chances are, the only way you’ll be able to get a shiny version of them is by evolving a Shiny Chimchar.

How to Get Shiny Chimchar

There is no way to force a Shiny Chimchar to appear. Instead, players must simply play the game to hope to run into one. However, players can use a few tricks to make it easier to find them.
