As a surprise for its players, Pokémon Go developer Niantic has decided to host a second Community Day in January 2022 a week after Spheal’s on Jan. 16. Bulbasaur, the first Pokémon in the Pokédex, will return for its own Community Day on Saturday, Jan. 22!

The Community Day hours will be cut short and will provide players only three hours to collect all the Bulbasaurs they can, as compared to the usual six. The event’s official time slot is from2pm to 5pm local time. Local time means that this schedule does not adjust for time zones—no matter where you are in the world, it will always be hosted from 2pm to 5pm on Jan. 22.

During the event, Bulbasaur will appear far more often in the wild, giving trainers a chance to collect dozens (even over a hundred, if you’re diligent) of Bulbasaurs, and hopefully evolve them to a mega powerful Venusaur. Perhaps one of the most important things to know is that if you evolve an Ivysaur (Bulbasaur’s second form) to a Venusaur between the hours of 2pm and 7pm, it willautomatically learn the powerful Grass charged attack Frenzy Plant.
