The new battle royale style game from Square Enix is a free-to-play experience. On launch, Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier will be available to download for free on Ios and Android mobile devices.

However, players can purchase cosmetics and Square Enix’s take on a Battle Pass: The Season Pass. Here are a few of the items included in the Season Pass.

The Season Pass costs 1000 Shinra Credits ($9.99), and there is also the option to purchase the Elite Season Pass for 2800 Shinra Credits ($19.99) which allows you to skip reward tiers 1-30 while still receiving those rewards.

The First Soldier takes place 18 years before the original Final Fantasy VII. You’ll play as one of the first of Shinra’s genetically enhanced SOLDIERs forced to fight against 75 other SOLDIERs in a battle royale to find the ultimate fighter.

The First Soldier offers a few things that are departures from the traditional style of the Battle Royale. For instance, besides the players you will be fighting, there are also NPC monsters that drop loot. Another key difference is that you’ll select a style when you start a match. These are similar to the Final Fantasy universe jobs and provide different bonuses for unique playstyles.
