To repair clothes in Project Zomboid, you will need a thread, a needle, and fabric. You can find both needles and thread inside sewing kits that sometimes spawn incabinets and various homes.
Both items can also spawn on their own in the game. Needles tend to spawn in medicine cabinets, while thread tends to spawn invehicles, sheds, and stores.
Once you get both a needle and some thread, you will also need to get some fabric to repair clothes. But how do you getfabric in Project Zomboid?

In short, you will need to rip or cut clothes up to get either denim strips, leather strips, or ripped sheets. To get ripped sheets, you will need to right-click a basic clothing item and click rip.
But to get denim strips or leather strips, you will need to have a pair of scissors on hand. You can find scissors if you don’t know already insidedesks, drawers, lockers, and shelves.We also recommend searching schools as the building has a high chance to have a pair of scissors.
That being said, after you get a needle, thread, scissors, and fabric, you will be ready to start repairing your clothes. To repair clothes right-click an item such as ajacket or vestyou want to repair.
After right-clicking a clothing item, find theinspect clothes optionand click it. Clicking the inspect clothes option will take you to a small tab shown below.
In this tab, you will be able to repair your clothes by right-clicking on a hole and clicking add a patch using yourdesired material. Also, keep in mind that different types of material are better to use than others. Certain fabrics will also givebonus protectiontowards scratch and bite defense.
Denim strips and leather stripsare the best materials to use to repair clothes. You should also consider adding padding to all of your clothes, even if they are not damaged. The reason is that you will gain a colossal protection bonus with the more clothes you add padding to.
Adding padding will also make it so you can survive longer when encountering more than one zombie and while being attacked bymore than one attacker.
