The Lucent Hive are a new breed of enemies that you will face in Destiny 2. These enemies usually have light-bearer like shields, but not to the extent of a Hive Guardian.
Guns and supers work very well against the Lucent Hive. There’s also a suppressor grenade in he game now which can help combating Hive light-bearers.
The new Glaives that we see in Destiny 2 can effectively be used to combat the Lucent Hive as well. In some cases, these Lucent Hive are seen with a Lucent Moth too. The first few hits with this weapon will dislodge the moth.
Once dislodged, this moth will usually fly up to you and explode, dealing damage.

These Lucent Hive have a telltale white armor and are usually led by Hive Guardians. While disposing off a Lucent Hive is somewhat easy, a Hive Guardian on the other hand is a different ball game altogether.
In some cases, the Lucent Hive come with energy shields as well. You will have an easier time destroying that shield if you have a matching elemental weapon.
