Apart from farming or herding sheep, Hunting wild animals and fishing are other basic techniques to collect food. While you are exposed to the former two methods during your tutorial phase, hunting nor fishing are introduced till the mid/later parts of the campaign. To hunt in Age of Empires IV, You have to select a villager and click onwild animals. For fishing,deploy a fishing boat or use any villagers.

Fishing in Age of Empires IV
As mentioned before, there are two ways to fish in the Age of Empires IV. One is using the villagers, and the other is through fishing boats. A simple fishing boat only costs about60 woodsand can fetch a large catch compared to a fisherman. To craft a fishing boat, you need to builda dockin the first place.
To use villagers for fishing, click on any idle/working villagers and right-click on the group of fishes near any seashore/water bodies.
Remember, the boar is a dangerous animal to hunt, so opt for other animals if possible. Also, fishing is only possible if your landscape has water bodies around it.
