Fortnite continues to grow in popularity, and as it does so, more and more cosmetic items are being added to the shop. Many must be purchased, but some can be acquired through other means, and some are even free. One such free item is Madcap’s Crescent Shroom Pickaxe.
Epic Games is giving away Madcap’s Crescent Shroom Pickaxe for free as an apology for the outages during the end of December. The item will be available in the shop later, butthose who log in during the Winterfest will receive Madcaps' Crescent Shroom Pickaxe completely free.

This free item is being given away to compensate for Fortnite being down during the Winterfest, leaving some players unable to play. This was likely due to higher traffic, and Epic is handling this well by giving away a free item. So make sure you log in before it’s too late!
