If you are experiencing FPS and stuttering issues in Battlefield 2042, you are not alone. Plenty of other gamers are in the same boat, and so the first thing you will need to do is check yourGPU driver.

Sometimes for whatever reason, some drivers don’t like to play nice withrecent games, so in these cases, you’ll need to check and see what GPU driver you are running.

If you find you are not running the most recent driver, you are experiencing issues running the game, and the best move would be to update it. To update a GPU driver, downloadDDUand the latest version of your graphics card driverfrom the manufacturer’s website. Run DDU and let it cleanly uninstall your current driver, and restart your PC.

When your PC restarts, proceed to install the latest driver, and when it finishes, try launching the game to see if it made any impact on performance. After updating drivers, the next best way to improve performance is to edit graphics settings.

This is because Battlefield 2042 is currently buggy and has some optimization issues, so even with decent hardware, you might runinto some issues. Because of this, we recommend turning down the mostdemanding settings, such as textures and shadows.

Doing so will help improve your performance until the developers iron out performance issues. Beyond editing graphic settings, there’s not much else you can do toimprove graphics settings.

Some users report that restarting your system can help, which does seem to be the case and helps get rid of stuttering for some players. But beyond this, we will need to wait for the developers to iron out the more severe issues.
