Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a mainline entry unlike any other in the franchise. In this prequel title, players must create the first Pokédex by observing, studying, and capturing various creatures seen in other Pokémon games. Previous entries in the Pokémon franchise often shifted from day to night depending on the console’s clock, but Pokémon Legends: Arceus is different; users can change the time of day in the game as they see fit. Here’s how it works.

Players can change the time of day in Pokémon Legends: Arceus by resting at Base Camps. Once players arrive at a Base Camp, head into the tent and selectRestfrom the following menu. Base Camps allows players to replenish their HP and restore their party Pokémon. Just before the rest animation ensues, players must choose a time to resume play.

Changing the time of day is invaluable for researchers searching for specific Pokémon, as some creatures only come out at certain times of the day. Be sure to speak with Professor Laventon to hand in Survey Reports and keep an accurate record of what tasks need to finish when cataloging Pokémon.
