The Onyx Spirit is one of the easier bosses to beat for a couple of reasons: you have Laty’sGuardianskill and are up against a low-defense enemy with Blight, an ultra-offensive mage.

If possible, Laty or the protagonist should haveDouble Healequipped, as well, just so you have a party-wide heal skill in case of an emergency. Otherwise, stock up onQuality Omnisalves. Queni’s skills won’t contribute much to this battle, so she can be your item user.
If you get hit by a status effect, have Laty useRefreshor throw a Panacea.
Moreover, if Laty has a free turn, have her useSharpenon the protagonist to increase his damage output. If Queni has a free turn, she shouldChargegems.
