After you and the Guardians have fought through every inch of the Church of Universal Truth’s ship and cut down his personal guards, Chapter 15 in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy culminates in an epic showdown with the Grand Unifier himself, Raker.
NOTE: In Chapter 8, you have a snap decision to make involvingGamora chasing Raker.Depending on how you played this moment, Raker will either be at full power or slightly weakened.
Your first step will be to bring down Raker’sgolden force field:
Save your heavy-hitting Guardian’s abilitiesfor when the shield falls—once you break it, Raker’s stagger bar will fill automatically, and he will fall to the ground with his massive HP now vulnerable.
Once the shield is down, act quickly: Activate Quill’sFan the Hammerability for a huge stream of damage. Send all of your Guardians’heaviest-hitting attacksat the same time. Raker’s health bar will melt away, but once his stagger bar resets,you will have to break the shield againto damage his HP.

Raker is only one enemy, but many of his attacks can affect theentire battlefieldwhile taking large chunks of damage from your health bar.Stay movingand keep an eye fordamage radius warningson the ground to find a safe spot when Raker launches hismassive ranged attacks.He will also use an ability that will cast thebattlefield in darkness.
When you are shrouded in darkness,you can’t attackRaker. Instead, spend your time constantly moving—Raker will periodically attack from the darkness, but if you’re keeping an eye, you candodge these attacks. Keep biding your time, and eventually, the darkness will relent and you can begin targeting his shield again. Be sure to make use ofQuill’s Force Field abilityfor pockets of short-term invincibility—very useful here.
Raker will also make thingsvery brightand slightly distorted.
you’re able to still target and damage Raker during this time, but things will be tough to see, including thedamage radius markersfor his attacks. Stay on the defensive; keep dodging and dashing until things become normal again.
Repeat this process, anddon’t stop moving.It may take a while, but after a couple of times breaking Raker’s shield and sending volleys of your heaviest Guardians attacks, you will soon have a well-earned victory against one of the more challenging bosses in this game.
