There are 17 chapters in Yakuza 0 and 100 substories within the game. The protagonist switches every two chapters to find themselves playing Kiryu and Majima. New substories are unlocked as the story goes on but keeping track of them can be difficult.

Starting with Kiryu, players play two chapters with each protagonist until the very end of the game.

Substories
Each character has their own set ofSubstoriesthat are introduced between chapters. Kiryu has 60 Substories, and Majima has 40, each unlocking their final one during theFinaleof the game.

Players receive all sorts of rewards upon completing Substories and will need them to achieve their achievements, trophies, and CP. Substories can be found on the map by playing minigames and raisingfriendshipswith NPCs.
