Techland’s Dying Light 2 has been in development for what feels like an eternity, but thankfully, the game has already seen what should be its last delay. The zombie-killing, traversal-rich first-person action game will grace a litany of platforms, but how much time will it take to see the credits roll?
Dying Light is filled with content for players to explore, and the team behind the game has explained how much time players can expect to sink into the open-world experience.

Those aiming to see everything that Dying Light has to offer should clear their schedules, as Techland has stated on their official Twitter account thatplayers will need 500 hours to see every facet of the game. This includes all story missions, collectibles, endings, and a full world map exploration. See their full official statement below.
To fully complete Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you’ll need at least 500 hours—almost as long as it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid!#DyingLight2#stayhumanpic.twitter.com/Sk3KFpRJoA
After fans voiced concern over the length of Dying Light 2, Techland clarified that completing the main game won’t take 500 hours.Players aiming to do the main story, side quests, and a substantial amount of exploring can finish the game and all its side quests in 100 hours or less.
UPDATE:500 hours is related to maxing out the game - finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world, but a regular player should finish the story + side quests and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don’t worry! 🥰https://t.co/4R641zkLpg
When critiqued, Techland narrowed the number down in their replies toabout 70-80 hours for the average playerinterested in finishing the main game and side quests who’s not rushing through content.
Story + side quests, if you’re not in a rush, should take you around 70-80hrs
Techland later posted on Twitter to specify how long the game should take for those interested in the main story.Completing the main story should take around 20 hours in Dying Light 2.
We wanted to clarify our recent communication about the amount of hours required to complete the game. Dying Light 2: Stay Human is designed for players with different gameplay styles and preferences to explore the world how they see fit.#DyingLight2pic.twitter.com/tcaDKULMo8
