Like other Souls-like games, Elden Ring will have a set of attributes that affect the classes in the game. In Elden Ring, there are eight different attributes: Vigor,Mind,Endurance,Strength,Dexterity,Intelligence,Faith, andArcane. Each of these has their own benefits and weaknesses to the class' effectiveness in battle. Knowing what the attributes do can help players decide which class is right for them when starting their Elden Ring playthrough.
Vigor
Vigor deals with the player’s hit points and the high the Vigor, the more hit points. Vigor will also reduce damage from both poison and fire sources.

Mind
The Mind attribute will affect the focus points a player has. Focus points are what players will use when casting spells, so it is important to have a high Mind attribute when using classes that deal with summons or incantations.

Endurance
High Endurance means high stamina. Stamina is used heavily in combat for things like blocking, attacking, sprinting, and dodging incoming hits. Endurance will also make players take less damage from physical attacks.

Strength
Strength has the largest effect on combat and melee attacks. Heavy armor, heavy weapons, and carry capacity are all affected by the Strength attribute.

Dexterity
Dexterity has a wide range of effects on gameplay. It can reduce fall damage, reduce the time it takes to cast spells, make you more sturdy when riding a mount, and can unlock advanced armaments.

Intelligence
Intelligence will decrease the amount of damage taken from magical attacks and can increase the damage dealt from intelligence-based attacks.

Faith
Makes faith-based attacks deal more damage. Faith-based spells (incantations) will be unlocked.

Arcane
Arcane will increase the likelihood of finding items on the bodies of fallen enemies. It can reduce the speed at which the death meter fills up and can also improve some magical spells and summons.
