MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV often undergo scheduled maintenance. As an always-online experience, these tweaks can only be done when the game’s service is taken down. Square Enix is doing their first big update of the year on Jan. 3, so make sure you know when the servers go offline.
Final Fantasy XIV has scheduled maintenance for all worlds on Jul 18, 2025. During scheduled maintenance, players cannot access the game. The update will introduce patch 6.05 to Final Fantasy XIV. We’ve listed the scheduled maintenance period below for Final Fantasy XIV and the Lodestone:

The Final Fantasy XIV Companion App will also be unavailable until the maintenance period has ended.
