A treasure-trove of dungeons were added into Final Fantasy XIV in the Stormblood Update, complete with another Deep Dungeon for players to test their adventuring prowess. Similar to Palace Of The Dead,Heaven On Highis a dungeon that players definitely won’t want to skip over.
Heaven On High offers unique loot and a heap of experience to those who can clear its floors. Boasting new mechanics to accompany a familiar routine, this Deep Dungeon is perfect for raising yourJob Level beyond 60. So how do you unlock Heaven On High?
Unlocking Heaven On High
To unlock Heaven On High, first, make sure you havecompleted the following:
Once those have been taken care of, head over toOnokoroin The Ruby Sea and accept the questKnocking On Heaven’s Doorfrom the NPCHamakaze. He’ll send you to seek out another NPC,Kyusei. Speak with Kyusei and follow his instructions to complete the quest, unlocking Heaven On High.

Exploring the heights
While Heaven On High holds fewer floors than Palace Of The Dead, it is no less deadly.This Deep Dungeon consists of100 floors, with a boss fight occurring every ten floors when exploring. Players can initially only access the first 30, though a new quest calledOn The Shoulders Of Giantsappears with Kyusei upon conquering floor 30.
Accept and complete the quest to open floors 31-100 of Heaven On High. Similar to Palace Of The Dead, with new floors to explore come new rules for ascending the heights:
As a Deep Dungeon, Heaven On High uses unique gear for exploration. Instead of relying on your usual gear to get you through battle, you’ll be armed withEmpyreanAetherpool Gearto face down any threats. Being gear specific to Heaven On High, it also comes with a couple of specific rules:

Coffers and treasure
Coffers found within Heaven On High contain similar items to the ones found in Palace Of The Dead, like Pomenders, along with the addition of something new—Magicite.Pomenders and Magicitecan be found by openinggoldcofferswhile exploring.
Pomenders provide various beneficial effects, such as petrifying enemies or unveiling the layout of floors, while Magicite can be used to temporarily summon Primals for devastating attacks. Pomenders and Magicite can only be used while inside Heaven On High.
Players may also come across what appears to be a strand of floating, yellow light. Standing in this light will spawn a special type of treasure calledAccursed Hoard. These tiny sacks of loot can be traded to the NPCConfederate Appraiserfor a variety of randomized rewards, ranging from confetti to Minions.
Animal Assistance
Helpful NPC animals, called Auspices, exist inside Heaven On High to grant players various buffs. These little guys are rare and appear randomly, but will provide anArea of Effect bufffor party members. The buff will last for 5 minutes and can have one of the following effects:
Every 10 floors that players pass will reward the player with a hefty amount of experience, and there are no limits to how many times floors can be replayed. Heaven On High is a great way to level up jobs later in the game, and is a breath of fresh air compared to most dungeons. All that’s left is for you to fight your way to the top!
