There are some very powerful Rock-type Pokémon for players to choose from in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. A new regional variant,Hisuian Arcanine, tops the list of who is strongest, but there are many other options as well.

Hisuian Arcanine

Hisuian Arcanine is worth having in a party for its stats alone. It has a fantastic attack and special attack, and none of the remaining stats really put it at a disadvantage in battle. Hisuian Arcanine’s biggest downside is its dual Fire and Rock-typing. This gives it a 4x weakness to both Ground and Water-type moves, which can really hinder the Pokémon in battle. Players using Hisuian Arcanine should consider these weaknesses when choosing which Pokémon to challenge.

Other strong Rock Type Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Familiar Pokémon likeRhyperiorandProbopassalso get recognition as they are solid choices for players needing a good Rock-type Pokémon on their team. Another new Hisuian regional variant,Hisuian Avalugg, is also a great choice.

Rhyperior

Rhyperior has great stats, with a staggering 140 attack stat that can take out many opponents in a few moves. It shares its biggest downside with Hisuian Arcanine, as it has two 4x weaknesses in Water and Grass-type moves. These are common typings in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, so players should be cautious when using Rhyperior.

Probopass

Probopass also has two 4x weaknesses to Fighting and Ground-type moves but compensates for this heavily with its fantastic defense and special defense stats. Probopass also has access to a decent move pool.

Hisuian Avalugg

Hisuian Avalugg has great attack and defense stats, giving it a spot as one of the best Rock-type Pokémon, but these stats aren’t always enough as Avalugg has a 4x weakness to Fighting and Steel-type moves. It can also fall behind when it comes to special attack and special defense compared to other Rock-type options.
