Carnivine has room to be a Physical or Special Attacker, but its very low Speed makes it hard to work with. Pokémon Legends: Arceus gave Carnivine a rough Learnset and Moveset that don’t utilize its high Attack stat. The best Natures for Carnivine are typically any Natures that increase whatever stat the player thinks is best while decreasing its already low Speed. A Neutral Nature will give it the most coverage while making sure no stats are lowered.

Natures

There are many Natures that Carnivine can thrive from, and each one depends on preference. It is highly subjective, so these are the pros and cons of the best ones.

Neutral Natures

Bashful,Docile,Hardy,Serious, andQuirkyNatures all increase and decrease the same stat by 10 percent, making no change to a Pokémon’s stats. A Neutral Nature works for Carnivine because there isn’t really any stat that players want to lower. Speed in Pokémon Legends: Arceus determines how often they can make a move in battle, with higher-Speed Pokémon able to move twice in a row.

Lowering its Speed may not matter against faster Pokémon, but it could potentially make it so other Pokémon can attack it twice in a row. Neutral Natures make it so no sacrifice is made on any of its stats. This also enables Carnivine to run a mix of Special and Physical moves to have more coverage for multiple Pokémon Types.Leech Life,Energy Ball, andSludge Bombgive it a good spread of moves that make it super effective against Water, Fairy, Grass, Psychic, Dark, Ground, and Rock-Type Pokémon.

Attack-Raising Natures

Without lowering any of its defensive stats, the best Attack-raising Natures areAdamantandBrave. Adamant raises the Attack stat while lowering the Special Attack stat, and Brave increases Attack while lowering Speed. Despite having a higher Attack stat than Special Attack, Carnivine doesn’t learn many Physical moves. This makes going for an Attack-boosting Nature less appealing because of how little Carnivine can take advantage of it. Its best STAB (Same-Type Attack Bonus) move is the Special moveEnergy Ball, and its highest Physical move isGiga Impact.

While Giga Impact is strong, it won’t deal as much damage as Energy Ball because of the 50-percent damage bonus from using the STAB. Energy Ball is80 Power, which increases to120 Powerbecause of STAB, whereas Giga Impact has 120 Power, has 90 percent accuracy, and only five PP. Carnivine’s best Physical Moves areCrunch,Leech Life, and Giga Impact, making its coverage strong against only a few typings, like Psychic, Grass, and Ghost-Type Pokémon.

Special-Attack Raising Natures

Avoiding all the Special-Attacking-raising Natures that decrease a Pokémon’s Defense or Special Defense, the best Natures areModestandQuiet. The Modest Nature increases the Special Attack stat while decreasing the Attack stat by 10 percent. The Quiet Nature increases Special Attack while decreasing Speed. Although Carnivine has a higher Attack than Special Attack, it doesn’t get many moves. It lacks a strong Physical Grass move and, instead, has Energy Ball as its strong STAB move.

Its best Special moves areEnergy Ball,Sludge Bomb, andHyper Beam, giving it coverage against Water, Rock, Ground, Grass, and Fairy-Type Pokémon. Using a Quiet Nature, Carnivine will have its Attack stat untouched while boosting its strong Special moves. Despite its lower Speed, with Energy Ball boosted, Carnivine is free to run its Physical moves likeCrunchorLeech Life. Crunch gives it coverage against Psychic and Ghost Types, while Leech Life gives it coverage against Grass, Psychic, and Dark Types.

Carnivine Stats And Moves

Carnivine has decent stats but lacks a precise role in teams because of how its stats are divided. Its movepool isn’t especially diverse and suffers as a result of it. It can still be very useful, however, and is a good Grass Type for players who didn’t choose Rowlet at the start of the game.
