Halo Infinite’s Community Manager John Junyszek posted on theHalo Waypoint forumsthat the team has decided to remove the Behemoth Capture the Flag from the ranked playlist. A combination of data and player feedback led to the decision to remove the mode.

It turns out that the map in Behemoth CTF was giving players very limited options in how to play, and games would often lead to all-out firefights. Where players respawn was also too unpredictable, giving some gamers a certain advantage over others. Junyszek also found that the map doesn’t have a lot of viable covers, making the matches more frenetically pace than what they wanted. The freneticism is exasperated when all players start with BR 75 weapons.

FYI: Behemoth CTF is being taken out of ranked for the time being. Its presence in other playlists will be unchanged. Thanks for the feedback, and please keep it coming on all aspects of the game! 👊https://t.co/OoPkRD9Nzl

Junyszek and the team at 343 Industries plan to work more on Behemoth CTF to fix all these problems. Junyszek claims that if the improvements prove successful enough and pass through all the “rigorous testing”, the team will consider re-adding the mode back to the ranked playlist.
